Levis 505 are not what they used to be - Levi 505

What happened to the 505 jeans? The denim is no longer denim, and the front belt loops are so close together that there is no room for even the smallest belt buckle. I have looked everywhere for the jeans that I have been wearing for The last 25 years ( same size 34, 34) and I cannot find the quality. I am very disappointed. Any suggestions? Thank you Brian
